Overview
The Advertising & Promotions module allows golf course operators to create, schedule, and manage advertisements and food & beverage promotions that display on FAIRWAYiQ cart tablets. Operators can run full-screen takeover ads, rotating banner ads, and F&B promotional pop-ups — all targeted to specific holes, days of the week, and areas of the course.
This module is accessed from the Advertising tab in the FAIRWAYiQ web application under Golf Operations.
The Landing Page
The Advertising & Promotions landing page is the central hub for managing all ad and promotional content.
From this page, operators can:
- Manage Advertisements — Navigate to the module where you create, edit, and manage full-screen and banner ads.
- Manage Food & Beverage — Navigate to the screen where you configure and schedule F&B promotional content and pop-ups.
- Full-Screen Display Schedule — An at-a-glance grid showing exactly which holes (rows) and which days of the week (columns) have full-screen takeovers scheduled. Clicking on an ad in the grid opens a pop-up with more detail about the sponsor, exact display location, and a link to the edit screen.
- Banner Ad Overview — Shows all banner ads that are currently set up and turned on. Operators can also set a custom rotation interval directly from this panel. This is a new capability — previously, users could only choose from three static interval options.
Managing Advertisements
Selecting Manage Advertisements opens the advertisement management screen. Ads are organized into two tabs: Full-Screen and Banner.
The table view displays:
- Ad Name — The name of the advertisement
- Sponsor — The sponsor associated with the ad
- Locations — Which holes and areas (Tee or Green) the ad is assigned to
- Active Days — Which days of the week the ad is scheduled to display
- Status — Toggle to turn the ad on or off
- Actions — Edit or delete the ad
From this screen, operators can create new ads using the Create Full-Screen Ad or Create Banner Ad buttons.
Creating a New Advertisement
Clicking Create Full-Screen Ad (or Create Banner Ad) opens a form where the operator enters the key details for the advertisement.
The form includes:
- Ad Name — A name to identify the ad internally
- Sponsor — The sponsor associated with the ad (optional)
- Link or QR Code URL — A URL that generates a QR code displayed alongside the ad on the cart screen, allowing golfers to scan and visit the sponsor's page
- Advertisement Image — Upload the ad creative. Full-screen ads require 900 × 600px dimensions. The system includes built-in crop and stretch tools so operators can adjust images to the correct size directly during upload.
- Display Locations — Select which holes and areas (Tee or Green) the ad should appear on. Multiple locations can be added.
- Active Days — Choose which days of the week the ad should display (Monday through Sunday)
The same workflow applies for banner ads, with different pixel dimension requirements.
Managing Food & Beverage
Selecting Manage Food & Beverage from the landing page opens the F&B configuration screen. Unlike advertisements (which can have many), Food & Beverage is a single configuration per course.
The current configuration displays:
- Phone Number — The number golfers can call to place orders
- Order Cutoff Time — The last time orders can be placed each day
- Message to Golfers — A custom promotional message displayed on the cart screen
- Display Image — An optional image or link displayed with the promotion
- Display Area — Which holes and areas (Tee or Green) the F&B promotion appears on
Operators can toggle the F&B display on or off using the Active switch, and click Edit Configuration to make changes.
Configuring Food & Beverage
Clicking Edit Configuration (or Configure Food & Beverage if not yet set up) opens the configuration form.
The form includes:
- Phone Number (required) — The phone number golfers can call to place orders
- Order Link or QR Code URL (optional) — A URL for online ordering, displayed as a QR code on the cart screen
- Order Cutoff Time (required) — The last time orders can be placed each day, selected from a dropdown
- Message to Golfers (required) — A custom promotional message displayed to golfers on their cart screen
- Display Locations (required) — Select which holes and areas the cart screen should display ordering information. Multiple locations can be added.
